The International Network of Arab and African Journalists Participates in an International Conference on Digital Media

The International Network of Arab and African Journalists participated in an international conference on the theme “Digital Media and Society: The Future and Challenges,” organized on March 25, 2026, by the Laboratory of Literary, Linguistic, Media, and Communication Studies at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Sais-Fez.
The conference program included four academic sessions during which 30 research papers were presented and discussed by a select group of professors, experts, and doctoral students.
The presentations addressed issues related to digital media in relation to citizenship, the formation of public opinion, artificial intelligence, the system of social values, media disinformation, media literacy, the management of international public opinion, shifts in socialization, political awareness, freedom of expression and the challenges of professional regulation, media platforms and the stakes of the Kingdom of Morocco’s geostrategic projects, the development of media professions in Morocco, and institutional communication.
The Network was represented at the conference by Dr. Al-Mahjoub Bensaid, an expert in communication and intercultural dialogue and Chair of the Network’s Training, Studies, and Research Committee.
During the discussion of the presentations from the two academic sessions on the first day of the conference, the Network’s representative, Dr. Al-Mahjoub Bensaid, intervened to highlight that misinformation in digital media has become an increasing threat on the ethical, social, political, legal, and human rights levels, He noted the growing interest in the subject among government institutions, international organizations, research centers, and civil society organizations. He explained that digital media disinformation carried out by far-right parties has contributed to the spread of hate speech
